WATCH: Royal Family Release Special Quiche Recipe for King Charles’ Coronation

England is officially crowning King Charles III as its monarch on 6 May 2023. And food has become a part of the occasion in more ways than one. Local communities are also hosting their own “Big Lunch” to mark this historic day. On their Instagram page, The King and Queen Consort shared a recipe for “Coronation Quiche” to encourage people “to attend the Coronation Big Lunch”.

Here’s how you can make it at home:

  • Preheat your oven. Roll out 250g of pastry and line a tin with it.
  • Line a pastry tin with parchment paper, then pour the baking beans over it. Bake it at 190 degree Celsius for 15 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, whisk milk, cream, eggs, herbs and seasonings.
  • chop finely spinach And keep it ready.
  • Spread half of the grated cheese over the blind-baked quick base.
  • Now, add spinach, broad beans and tarragon. After this, pour the milk-egg mixture over the filling.
  • Add the remaining cheese on top. Bake the quiche at 160°C for about 20 minutes.
  • When it turns light golden, cut it into pieces and serve.
