Watch: Sri Lankan song ‘Manike Mange Hite’ goes viral, gets Bhojpuri rap remix

Music knows no boundaries of language or region, it is only the feel of the song that connects it to the audience and this is what happened with the Sinhalese song Manike Mange Hite. The song became a viral sensation on the internet with over 110 million views on YouTube and people couldn’t stop showering their love on it. The song, originally sung by Sri Lankan musician Yohani Diloka De Silva and rapper Satishan, has also been remade in several other languages. Manike Mage Hithe has its own version in English, Hindi, Tamil, Bangla and other Indian languages.

Now this song has been recreated in Bhojpuri. While the original part sung by Yohani has been retained, the Sinhala rap has been replaced by the Bhojpuri version by Bihari Gypsy Soul. As per the information shared with the video, the lyrics of this entertainer are penned by Rishi, Abhishek and Gypsy Soul and music composed by Ranjan.

Earlier, the song was recreated in Hindi by popular YouTuber and composer Yashraj Mukhate.

Meanwhile, seeing the popularity of the original Sinhala song, Sri Lankan musician Yohani will soon be performing Manike Mage Hite in India live. Yohani will tour India later this month and perform in Gurugram (September 30) and Hyderabad (October 3).

The event will be called Supermoon #NowTrending.

Manike Mage Hithe’s popularity hasn’t just been limited to the masses. Several Bollywood celebrities including megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Parineeti Chopra, Tiger Shroff danced to the tune in their social media posts.

Big B tweeted a video edited by his granddaughter Navya Naveli where the Sinhala song was superimposed on his dance sequence in the song Jahan Teri Yeh Nazar Hai from the 1981 release Kalia.
