A young girl got the surprise of her life during the Lakers-Golden State Warriors game on Saturday when she realized LeBron James was sitting next to her. The basketball legend was pulled out of the Los Angeles game against the Warriors due to an ankle injury, but still made a short trip to San Fransisco to watch the Lakers win.
When he reached courtside, the NBA’s (National Basketball Association) all-time scoring leader casually pulled up next to a 12-year-old fan. The stunned girl, identified as Gaia, looked wide as her eyes widened and her mouth dropped when LeBron James, dressed in a bright green beanie, sat down next to her. Unable to control her excitement, the 12-year-old covered her mouth and looked away from James.
Taking to Twitter, the NBA shared the clip showing the girl’s reaction. The post’s caption read, “This young fan’s reaction to sitting next to LeBron.”

LeBron James also shared video of Gaia’s shocked reaction on his Instagram story. “This is why I love what I do,” he wrote.
In addition, the 12-year-old girl also met the basketball player and took a photo backstage. The Lakers captured the moment on camera, with James giving Gaia a high five, and the Lakers posted a photo of the two together on Instagram as “healthy”.
