Exclusive interview of PM Modi: In a telephonic interview this evening, on his return from campaigning in Uttarakhand, Modi told India TV political editor Devendra Parashar that “we are getting a wonderful (‘wonderful’) response in UP. Very good. (‘Very good). Hi Uttam’). I see 2014-like wave in favor of our party in Goa, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. I am yet to visit Punjab and Manipur, but whatever ground reports I am getting, they are positive.”

Modi said, “We are getting huge support from the people, but others who have a predetermined, political agenda and who have vested interests are against us. Naturally such people are angry with us. But overall people are of BJP. are in favor.

“I can feel people’s pulse. The confidence of common people in BJP is increasing continuously. During my campaign in Uttarakhand, I saw a large number of people from the helipad to the public meeting. This is an indication of how well-intentioned we are and that we are working hard to deliver on our promises.

The Prime Minister said, his attachment to Uttarakhand goes back very long, when he was young and used to roam in the Himalayas.

Modi said, ‘A major part of my life was spent there. It was Atal Bihari Vajpayee who worked for the creation of Uttarakhand 20 years ago. Today it is on the state runway and is on the verge of taking off. The youth of Uttarakhand need a stable government for another ten years, which should have a vision. Uttarakhand is also a cultural and spiritual center for people from all over the world. While living in the United States, I was looking for vegetarian food in a faraway place, and there I found an American, wearing a ‘mala’. He told me that he used to come to Rishikesh every year.

“Today we want to focus primarily on nature and adventure tourism in Uttarakhand. People in Uttarakhand are now earning tourists because of the ‘home stay’ facilities provided by them. We are also focusing on improving connectivity of rail, road and even ropeway. We want the next decade to be the ‘Decade of Uttarakhand’.

When India TV’s political editor pointed out that Uttarakhand has had three chief ministers in the last five years, the prime minister said, “BJP is a big organisation, where we work together as a family. (Chief Minister Pushkar Singh) Dhamiji is a very simple, humble, soft spoken and hardworking person. He has the advantage of getting experience from two former Chief Ministers. He belongs to the family of a young man. For us Dhamiji is a good face for Uttarakhand elections.

The Prime Minister also spoke about how India was successful in dealing with the COVID pandemic. “When the pandemic first broke out, people around the world were concerned about how India, with its huge population and where regular festivals thronged with crowds, would handle the pandemic. Through ‘Tali’ and ‘Thali’, we educated people about the pandemic, kept people united across the country, and we had a record 23 meetings with all Chief Ministers.

“The result is in front of everyone. When the vaccine process began, we decided to spend money to provide free vaccines, inspire our scientists to work on vaccines, and encourage health workers to make sure the vaccination process goes smoothly. Keep on going Today we are almost touching the target of 100% first dose for all Indians, and the target of second dose will also be achieved soon. I have seen in Uttarakhand how women are blessing me to get vaccinated. A woman in Uttarakhand said, Modi has protected my son by giving him the vaccine.

On opposition leaders criticizing him and his government, Modi replied: “In public life, criticism is natural. This is the general nature of the region (is the nature of the field). It is said that we do not want to fall in the trap of others. I never waste time on who is saying what. I tried to take the debate to a higher level in both the houses of Parliament. My speeches were based on facts. ,
