Weather Update Rain Alert: Rain continues in Delhi-NCR; Damage to crops due to hailstorm in Rajasthan

Rain Alert, Weather UpdateRainfall continued in many parts of the National Capital Region today after the IMD predicted some light to moderate rain over Delhi in the next 12 hours. Light to moderate rain continued throughout the night and morning in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad. Hail has damaged crops in Rajasthan’s Udaipur. A local said, “Our crops have failed, what will we eat now? I request the government to help us.”

The Met department said light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur at most places in the national capital. Light rain will occur in Delhi’s Nehru Stadium, IGI Airport, Vasant Vihar, RK Puram, Defense Colony, Lajpat Nagar, Vasant Kunj, Hauz Khas, Malviyanagar, Kalkaji, Mehrauli, Tughlakabad, Chattarpur, IGNOU, Ayanagar and Deramandi areas. The agency added to its earlier forecast.

In the NCR region, light to moderate rain is expected at Loni Dehat, Hindon Air Force Station, Bahadurgarh, Indirapuram, Noida, Gurugram and Manesar. The Meteorological Department said on Sunday that Bhiwani in Haryana, Kithore in Uttar Pradesh, Garhmukteshwar, Hapur and Gulawati have also been reported to receive light rain. Jind, Gohana, Hansi, Rohtak, Charkhi Dadri, Mattanhel, Jhajjar, Loharu, Farukhnagar, Kosli, Mahendragarh, Narnaul in Haryana; The weather office had said that there is a possibility of rain in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor, Khatauli, Sakoti Tanda, Hastinapur, Chandpur, Daurala, Meerut, Modinagar and Rajasthan’s Pilani and Jhunjhunu late Sunday night.

As per the earlier weather alert, a fresh cloud patch coming over Delhi was expected to bring light to moderate rain in the city. According to IndiaMetSky Weather data, the moisture is freezing on the mountain peaks of Aravalli and rising immediately.

Earlier on Sunday, the IMD predicted that light to moderate rain and thundershowers would occur over Delhi-NCR and adjoining areas on the night of January 29 and January 30.
