Kolkata: A total of 158 motorists and bike riders were prosecuted for drunken driving this weekend between Friday evening and late Sunday night. Sixty of them – the highest this weekend – were caught on Saturday by a breathalyzer drinking more than the permitted limit. Another 51 were tried on Friday for drunken driving and another 47 were found driving under the influence of alcohol on Sunday night.
“This weekend saw a 27% increase in cases of drink driving considering that we carried 107 motorists for drink driving last weekend.
