West Bengal government extends existing COVID restrictions till January 15. check details

The West Bengal government on Wednesday extended the existing COVID restrictions in the state till January 15. The move comes amid growing concern for the new Omron version of COVID-19 across the country.

Earlier today, West Bengal reported its first case of Omicron in a 7-year-old child found in Murshidabad district.

The guidelines issued in the new order issued are as follows:

  • All outdoor activities, including movement of people and vehicles, will remain prohibited between 11 pm and 5 am.
  • However, in view of Christmas and New Year, the restrictions will be lifted from December 24 to January 1.
  • Wearing of masks, maintaining physical distance and health and hygiene protocols to be followed at all times
  • All shops, restaurants and bars will remain open as per normal operating hours.
  • Between December 24 and January 1, the bar will be allowed to close late.
