Kolkata: Police arrested a 38-year-old man who allegedly killed his mother due to her habit of going on short trips and buried her in her room for two years.

According to the police, the deceased woman Sukran Bibi, 58, lived with her younger son Sahidul Sheikh alias Nayan.
On January 10, 2019, Shaikh, who is said to be Krodhi, killed his mother because she wanted to go on a short trip. Shaikh hit her on the head with a blunt object and then strangled her.
A senior police officer said, “Since no one was there at the time of the murder, he dug up the floor of his bedroom and buried it there. Since then he used to light incense sticks every day at the place where his mother was buried. ” Burdwan police station said.
According to the local people, no one had any information about Sukran Bibi’s disappearance. After her disappearance, the victim’s elder son Kismat Ali had lodged a complaint with the Burdwan police station, but the police did not have any information about the woman.
Recently, a dispute arose between Shaikh and his wife and he decided to go to his father’s house in Bhatar in East Burdwan district.
To solve the problem, Ali went to meet Sheikh’s wife on Tuesday and inquired about the incident. He immediately reached the police station and informed them.
Shaikh’s wife told the police that her husband used to physically torture her daily and sometimes told her that he would kill and bury her just as he had killed his mother and buried the body in the bedroom. . Sheikh’s wife said that she had left her husband’s house out of fear.
Though police arrested Shaikh on Tuesday night, he had to wait for a court order before digging the room to recover the body.
On Wednesday, after getting the necessary permission, the police excavated the bedroom floor in front of the judicial magistrate and found some bones there.
“The body parts have been sent to the laboratory for forensic examination and autopsy. Once the murder is confirmed, we will initiate legal action against the accused,” the official said.
