West Bengal Speaker Viman Bandyopadhyay on Saturday said he has asked the CBI and the ED to explain why the members of the legislature in recent days were not allowed to take permission from the Speaker’s office before submitting the chargesheet.
He said that the office of the Speaker was not kept in the loop and no permission was taken from him while initiating action against the elected representatives. Several MLAs of the ruling Trinamool Congress were charge-sheeted and even arrested.
