West Bengal teacher recruitment scam: WB education board seeks more time to submit documents

The West Bengal Board of Primary Education has said that sharing such a huge amount of documents spanning over a decade would not be possible within two days and would require more time.

West Bengal Primary education The board has sought more time from the ED to present the documents related to the teacher recruitment scam. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had sought recruitment documents from the board since 2011, within two days after the Calcutta High Court directed the agency to probe allegations of recruitment irregularities even at the primary level.

The board has now written back to the agency that it would not be possible to share such a huge amount of documents within two days and would require more time. Though no time period is mentioned in the board’s letter, there were indications that at least a month would be required to sort the documents.
