Sollozano was fielding at short leg when Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne pulled a short delivery from Roston Chase into the grille of the Windies opener’s helmet.

Sollozano immediately took off his helmet and lay down, surrounded by worried teammates and the two Sri Lankan batsmen at the Galle International Stadium as the team physio ran to the ground.

The 26-year-old was taken to the hospital on a stretcher.

“Jeremy Solozano’s scans show no structural damage. He will be kept in hospital overnight for observation,” West Indies said in a statement.
