CES 2022 is turning into a virtual event as the Omicron transition grows

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) of 2022 is finally happening, but due to the new outbreak of Omicron variants of COVID19, most of the brands have thwarted their plans. These days the world’s biggest tech trade show is also one of the biggest automotive spectacles as auto companies transition into tech mobility companies. CES has also announced that it is shutting down a day earlier due to a new surge of infections caused by the highly infectious Omicron variant. Most tech giants have actually pulled out of the event but automakers are trying to adopt a hybrid strategy. It comes after the likes of Waymo, also owned by Google parent Alphabet, pulled out of the trade show.
