What Congress leader Siddaramaiah said on ink attack on farmer leader

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah took a jibe at the BJP-led state government.

New Delhi:

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday condemned the “physical attack” on Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait in Bengaluru.

He also took a jibe at the state government, saying that Karnataka state is known for peace, but such incidents show the inability of the BJP-led state government to take on opponents in the southern state.

“The physical attack on farmer leader Rakesh Tikait is proof of @BJP4Karnataka’s inability to face opponents on ideological grounds and has exposed the intellectual bankruptcy of BJP. Karnataka is known for being peaceful and credited for turning it into goonda raj BJP should go,” tweeted former CM

BKU leader Rakesh Tikait was attending an event in Bengaluru when some unidentified persons threw ink at him.

Mr Tikait cited a lack of security detail by the local police and blamed the government for the incident. So far three people have been taken into custody in the case.
