WhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature that will allow more people to join a group. With this new update, a WhatsApp group can have up to 512 participants. WhatsApp is extending this support to Android, desktop and iOS users. A few days back, the instant messaging app rolled out 2GB media file sharing feature for its users, allowing people to send or receive massive files within the app.

This new feature of WhatsApp will be available for those people who are using the latest version of the app. Older versions of WhatsApp will not support this feature for adding up to 512 people to the group.

WABetaInfo said, “Ultimately it is possible to create groups with up to 512 participants, and you can even add them later by opening Group Info. If this feature has come to you yet or not, you can try it yourself. Just one Create WhatsApp group, add the people you want and see if it goes up to 512 participants. If yes, then this feature is available for you and if not, then you have to wait for it.

“It’s not limited to the beta version of the app: those who installed the most recent stable build of WhatsApp for Android, iOS and desktop can also create and join large groups today,” he said.

WhatsApp is also rolling out the redesigned stickers for some users on the Android beta. The WhatsApp tracker also mentioned, “The location sticker has been redesigned and uses a different light green color as well. Plus, there’s another redesigned style available: You can switch to an alternate style by tapping the location sticker.”
