WhatsApp is reportedly redesigning the in-app camera for Android smartphones – Times of India

WhatsApp Reportedly working to redesign in-app camera Android Smartphones. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the Facebook-owned platform has started rolling out the 2.22.1.2 beta update for Android devices. The report further mentions that WhatsApp’s in-app camera will get a new interface as well as redesigned flash and switch camera buttons. The report also states that with the new design users will be able to open recent media by tapping on the lower left corner.
As per the image shared in the report, with the new design, the in-app camera on the platform will look very similar to that of Apple iPhones. The image shows that the Flash button will be moved to the top right corner. The image also hints that the company may drop the feature that allows users to swipe up to access the gallery. Currently, on Android smartphones, the Flash button is placed in the lower left corner of the screen and the Switch Camera button is placed in the lower right corner of the screen.
Earlier this week, WhatsApp rolled out the beta UWP 2.2148.3.7 or Windows app. With the update, the company has added new emoji on the platform. These emoji were already available on Android and iOS devices. The Facebook-owned platform now allows users to create skin-tone combinations for the couples emoji on the Universal Windows Platform app as well. Recently this feature was also rolled out for Android users with a beta update. Previously, this feature was available only for Apple iPhone users.
Users can also change the skin tone combination for the couple emoji multiple times. WhatsApp launched the new Windows app a few weeks back. The app looks similar to the web version of the platform and is available to download on the Microsoft Store.
