According to a report by WABetaInfo, the platform has released new beta updates for iOS apps and (Universal Windows Platform) UWP based desktop apps. The report claims that with the latest update, Facebook The proprietary platform is introducing minor changes to the iOS version of its app. The company has redesigned the Switch camera icon. The icon is smaller than the previous version and also misses the transparency effect. Apart from this, WhatsApp has also removed the horizontal bar that showed recent pictures in the phone’s gallery.
The platform has also replaced the gallery button at the bottom of the screen. With the update, the button now shows the last image saved on your smartphone. As per previous reports, WhatsApp is planning to revamp the in-app camera in Android smartphones to look similar to the iOS app. According to the report, the company can soon introduce this new change for Android devices.
When it comes to the UWP app, WhatsApp is adding a dark theme to the platform with the latest beta update. As per the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, if you are using the dark theme on Windows, the app will automatically set the theme to Dark.
If a user wants to change the theme, he can do so by going to WhatsApp Settings > General. It is worth noting that the changes will apply only after the app is restarted. Also the app tint color is now green. After the update, users can also see a small space between the chat bubbles. The features mentioned above are only available to users who are part beta program. The company is yet to officially reveal any details about these design changes.
