WhatsApp may let you update status with media sharing on chat

WhatsApp has been seen working on the ability for users to upload a photo or video as a status update while they are sending media content to the recipient in a chat. The change may come in the form of an extension to the option for recipients of media content to edit before sending them in chat – an update that appeared in testing earlier this month. WhatsApp is said to be working on an update for both Android and iOS devices. However, there is no concrete timeline on when the changes will be available to end users.

As Reported By WhatsApp Feature tracker WABetaInfo lets WhatsApp users choose different recipients, including status, when they are sending photos or videos in a chat. This will allow users to easily create new status updates of media content that they are sharing with their contacts on an individual basis.

Earlier this month, WhatsApp brought beta version 2.12.24.11 of its Android app, which suggested the ability to edit recipients of status updates before uploading photos or videos. This will help users to limit the visibility of their status to specific contacts.

WhatsApp was also recently seen working on Ability to edit recipients Users to select or remove particular persons from the list of contacts to receive the selected photo or video before sharing media in the chat. WhatsApp reportedly made reference to that update for Android beta version 2.21.25.19, although the changes were not made available to beta testers.
