Instant messaging giant WhatsApp is set to launch ‘Reaction feature’ for all its users on Friday. The big update on WhatsApp comes almost two weeks after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the new feature on his official Facebook account.

Zuckerberg said that WhatsApp Will include more ‘expressions’ to help with thanks and appreciation.

“Reactions on WhatsApp starting today. We are including [hands joined emoji] Thanks and for helping spread the appreciation. More quotes coming soon,” Zuckerberg wrote on Facebook.

last month, WhatsApp Informed that it will introduce several features for its users including changes in ‘community’ and ‘voice calls’. The Facebook-backed app has already rolled out the voice call feature, but the community feature is still under development.

Talking about the latest upgrade of the WhatsApp app, the ‘Reaction’ feature will make it easier for users to send emoji in a single message. Until now, a user had to type an emoji to respond to a message. However, starting today this will be done immediately by tapping and holding the message you want to respond to.

The WhatsApp reaction feature will work just like Instagram and Facebook Messenger.

WhatsApp reaction feature: How it works

Step 1: Open WhatsApp, then Open Chats

Step 2: Touch and hold the message you want to respond to

Step 3: The app will show six different emoji to react

Step 4: Drag and drop your thump on the desired emoji

Step 5: Your response will be reflected on that message immediately.

In April, WhatsApp introduced a voice call feature, in which it allowed more participants in a single voice call as well as the overall interface of the call. WhatsApp now allows up to 32 people in a single call. Earlier WhatsApp allowed only eight people in a voice call.
