On this day Dwitiya Tithi will start on 26th October at 2:42 pm and will end on 27th October at 12:45 pm. The Shubh Muhurta or Shubh Muhurta of Bhai Dooj will be between 1:12 pm to 3:27 pm.

Bhai Dooj 2022: Worship Method

  1. On this day sisters apply tilak to their brothers, feed them sweets and perform aarti.
  2. In return, brothers give gifts to their sisters and promise to protect them relentlessly.
  3. Raksha Bandhan and Bhai Dooj may have similarities, but on Bhai Dooj sisters do not tie thread or rakhi on the wrists of their brothers as they do on Raksha Bandhan.

Bhai Dooj 2022: Significance

According to beliefs, the celebration of Bhai Dooj dates back to the Vedic era, when the deities shared a close relationship with their siblings. Bhai Dooj is cited in many ancient Hindu scriptures as a celebration of brother-sister bond. There are many stories associated with this day, but the two most famous stories are of Lord Krishna and his sister Subhadra and Lord Yamraj and his sister Yamuna.
