Mahima Chaudhary, who made her debut with Subhash Ghai’s ‘Pardes’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan, once revealed how important marital status was when she entered Bollywood. In an earlier interview with a news portal Mahima had said, “The moment you started dating someone, people would text you because they only wanted a virgin who didn’t kiss. So it was like, ‘Oh! She’s dating!’ If you were married, forget it, your career was over, and if you had kids, it was absolutely over”. Opening up about how the industry has evolved over the years, Mahima said “I think the industry is reaching a stage where women actors are also taking shots. They get better stakes, better pay and advertisements; they are in a great and very powerful position. They are in a great position than before.
