Who picked Gandhi’s pocket in Golden Temple: Harsimrat Congress says not to spread false news

Former Union minister and SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal asked on Saturday, “Who picked up Rahul Gandhi’s pocket in Sri Harmandir Sahib.” On Wednesday, he also visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar, where several party candidates paid obeisance in the February 20 assembly elections. Gandhi also visited Jalandhar later that evening, where he addressed a virtual rally.

Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Deputy CMs Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and OP Soni and state Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu were visiting the Sikh shrine along with others, including Congress leader. “Who picked up Rahul Gandhi’s pocket in Sri Harmandir Sahib? @Charanjit Channi? @serryontopp? (Navjot Sidhu) or @Sukhjinder_INC (Deputy CM Randhawa)? These were the only three people Z-Security allowed access to. Or is it just another attempt to malign the name of our holiest temple after the incidents of ‘be-adbi’ (sacrifice),” Harsimrat Kaur asked.

However, he did not give any other details about the alleged incident. Hitting back at Harsimrat Kaur, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala retweeted her post and said that it is sacred to spread such false news when nothing like this has happened.

Surjewala, in a tweet in Hindi, said that apart from political differences, he should show responsibility and maturity. Surjewala also took a jibe at him, saying that being a part of the Narendra Modi cabinet and approving agriculture ordinances is like cutting the pockets of hardworking farmers. Harsimrat Kaur was the Union Minister for Food Processing Industries before resigning in September 2020 over controversial agriculture laws.
