The perfume was introduced by the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) as a limited edition collectible for Valentine’s Day. Called as ‘Frites’ by Idaho, it is called a tantric Fragrance Inspired by the unique aroma of French fries. The launch of the unique fragrance also coincides with National Potato Lovers Month. “Exclusively crafted from a blend of essential oils and distilled Idaho potatoes, this scent will invite memories of fry-tasty days,” read the caption to the post. The 50 ml bottle is being sold at a price of just Rs. 142.
According to a statement on IPC Website, a survey was conducted by Pollfish prior to the launch of the product. It was found that almost 90% of Americans find the smell of french fries irresistible. “Whether you’re on a drive through restaurant or dining out, it’s impossible to grab and bite the fry before diving into your meal. The smell is great to resist,” said Jamie Higham, President and CEO Explained, IPC “This perfume is a great gift for anyone who can’t refuse the french fry.”
