It asked, “Every citizen has the right to free movement. You have shut down business. Have you asked residents around protest sites if they are happy with the protest.”
Kisan Mahapanchayat said that the denial of permission to organize peaceful, unarmed and non-violent satyagraha The location at Jantar Mantar is a violation of the basic democratic rights enunciated as Fundamental Rights under the Constitution of India.

Earlier on Thursday, the apex court reiterated its objection to the blockade of highways by farmers in protest against three controversial agricultural laws. The Supreme Court had asked the Center “how can highways be blocked forever?” and “Where does it end?”
