On 2 March, the Supreme Court of India constituted an expert committee to investigate allegations made by US-based short-seller Hindenburg Research in its scathing report on the Adani group. The Hindenburg Report made some serious allegations against the Indian conglomerate, which led to an unprecedented drop of $120 billion in Adani Group’s shares over the next few weeks. The Supreme Court directed SEBI to investigate whether there has been any violation of SEBI regulations and any manipulation of stock prices.
