Why is there so much controversy in the MCD Standing Committee elections? House meeting today, 10 points

BJP Vs AAP Clash: On Wednesday and Thursday, there was fierce opposition between the councilors of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

New Delhi:
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) met on Wednesday but the election of six members of the Standing Committee could not be held due to the ruckus. On Wednesday and Thursday, there was a fierce protest between the councilors of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). There were even talks of apples and water being thrown along with hurt, breaking mics inside the house. The proceedings of the House are going to happen again today. It remains to be seen whether even today the six members of the Standing Committee can be elected or not.

Important information related to the case:

  1. Delhi has got a new mayor 80 days after the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections. Shelly Oberoi of the Aam Aadmi Party has been elected mayor. Shaili got 150 votes. He defeated BJP’s Line Gupta by 34 votes.

  2. Delhi has got a woman mayor after 10 years. Whereas, AAP’s Aale Mohammad Iqbal has been elected as the deputy mayor. He got 147 votes. He defeated Kamal Bagdi of BJP.

  3. The BJP says that the Aam Aadmi Party is not running the Lok Sabha. After the mayor and deputy mayor were elected in the House where BJP members voted peacefully, the AAP mayor allowed the members of the standing committee to carry mobile phones while voting. They cross over from voting and allow mobiles while members are voting. This is a violation of secret survey.

  4. Your MP Sanjay Singh said that BJP people committed hooliganism with the woman mayor. If the marshals were not there, untoward things would happen. He was killed by throwing sea, apple and don’t know what. Mayors are conducting elections on the orders of the Supreme Court, but these risks are happening. No one has ever seen anything like this. This is a goon party. How did a woman become mayor… They are not giving it to them. When this scene will come in front of people, BJP people will not show their faces.

  5. Delhi Mayor Style Oberoi said on the whole matter yesterday (Thursday) that BJP did not respect God, they again did not respect democracy. This information has been given. We are expecting elections tomorrow (on Friday). We have not cross-voted, the people of Delhi have given us the mandate. They (BJP) have lost the elections, so they are scared.

  6. The real government in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is the Standing Committee. Six members of the Standing Committee are yet to be elected. The Aam Aadmi Party is going active on the shutter and going on talks in six ways, while seats are only. In such a situation, both of them accept the defeat of one’s candidate in confusion.

  7. BJP should have been voted to win all its triad literacy, it had three votes less than that. But the voting bowl that has come in the election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor is telling that three members of BJP are young.

  8. This means that if everything goes like this, the party may lose one seat in the Standing Committee to Aam. If this happens, even after winning the elections in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party will be seen on par with the BJP by winning 3-3 seats in the Standing Committee elections and it will be no less than a victory for the BJP. If this happens, the focus will shift to the zone elections, where 12 Sarovar will go to polls later.

  9. The Standing Committee is the apex force committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. It has a number of important financial and junior rights. The Standing Committee meets every week. Almost all important matters are passed from this committee to the house presided over by the mayor. In such a situation, the Aam Aadmi Party wants that its work should remain in the Standing Committee as well, so that it does not face any problem in getting the proposal passed.

  10. Please inform that the MCD elections in Delhi were to be held on December 4. Their result came on 8th December. BJP did not get majority in MCD after 15 years in elections. To become the mayor of 250 seats, 138 votes were required. 241 members, 10 MPs and 14 MPs voting in Mayor elections. 9 members of the Congress did not participate in the election.
