Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said why there was no police action on Shraddha Walker’s complaint against Aftab Poonawalla in 2020, it will be probed. The BJP leader also said that if forceful action had taken place at that time: he could have been saved. It is alleged that Poonawalla and Shraddha met through a date app. They then started working together in a call center in Mumbai and the two started a love affair together. The two allegedly had an argument on May 18 over marriage, following which Poonawalla killed Shraddha and cut her body into 35 pieces. Poonawalla kept these coins in a 300-litre account for about three weeks at his home in south Delhi’s Mehrauli. He was taking them to different areas of the city for several days till midnight. An official said on Wednesday that Walker had on November 23, 2020, lodged a complaint with Tulinj police station in Palghar district that her live-in-partner Poonawala tried to kill her and feared that he would cut her into pieces.

Walker had told the police, “His (Poonawalla’s) parents knew that he was infatuated with me and tried to kill me.” Home in conversation with Pagal after an event in Nagpur Fadnavis, who is holding the charge of the ministry, said that he has read Walker’s Tahrir. He said, “I have read it. The letter is very serious. We have to investigate why action was not taken on his complaint. “He said,” I do not want to make allegations against anyone, but there are incidents when action is not taken on meeting. It will be thoroughly investigated.
