Will Delhi impose restrictions amid the Covid surge? Know what the Health Minister says

The national capital Delhi, which has been witnessing a resurgence in Covid-19 cases recently, has decided not to impose any restrictions as of now. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Wednesday said the city government is monitoring the COVID situation and said “major restrictions are not required in the current scenario”. The Health Minister of Delhi also said that the number of people admitted to the hospital is still very less and the epidemic situation in the city is not so serious yet.

Delhi Performs a large number of tests. Since Delhi’s eligible population has been vaccinated, the number of hospitalizations in the last few days is very low despite the number of daily cases being in the range of 1,200-1,500 and the positivity rate standing in the bracket of five-six per cent.

“We have reserved 10,000 beds in the hospital cases of covid, but less than 200 of them are occupied. So, it is satisfactory. And the situation is not so serious at the moment.”
