Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that the Delhi Police and the prosecution will ensure “severe punishment” for Panch in the Shraddha Walker murder case in the shortest possible time. “I have my eye on the whole matter. I just want to tell the people of the country that whoever has done this, the Delhi Police and the prosecution will be brought to book in the shortest possible time through law and courts,” he said at the ‘Times Now’ conference here. I will ensure strict punishment.” Shah said that there is no dearth of confusion between Delhi and Mumbai Police.

The Home Minister said, “But the letter that has come out has no role of Delhi Police. Shraddha had written a letter to a police station in Maharashtra threatening to dismember her body and kill her… no action was taken there.. there will be an inquiry. Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar on Wednesday questioned the Maharashtra Police’s alleged failure to act on Shraddha Walker’s letter to call center employees in November 2020. Shraddha had written in the letter that her live-in partner Aftab Poonawalla had tried to kill her.
