Will take Delhi school model to Telangana: CM K Chandrashekhar Rao

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Saturday said his government will open model schools in the southern state on the lines of Delhi and will soon send a team of officials for coordination. Rao, along with his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal, visited a Delhi government school in the national capital, where officials briefed the Telangana chief minister about changes in the education system in the city under the AAP government.

Rao and his party leaders were received by Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School in Moti Bagh area and visited the school. The delegation visited the classrooms, laboratories and the students’ play area, among other facilities.

Praising Delhi’s public education system, Rao said, “The process of becoming job givers instead of job seekers is very good. It is very important for our country with such a large population. “We will implement the Delhi model of schools in Telangana as well. We will soon send a team of our state officials to coordinate,” he told reporters. In 2015, a statement issued by the Delhi government quoted Rao as saying that the policies of the Kejriwal government in health and education were indeed excellent, and the citizens of Delhi were “really fortunate” to receive such splendid services. .

“It should be implemented across India. If the governance given by Kejriwal government in Delhi happens in the whole country, India Will proceed as before. This kind of development is not usually seen in India,” the statement quoted KCR as saying. Addressing the media, Kejriwal said that the Telangana Chief Minister came to Delhi and visited a school, where he saw the facilities, which is “a matter of pride for us”.

“We heartily welcome him (KCR) and his MPs who have come to visit a government school in Delhi. He showed keen interest and inquired about every detail of the school. It is good to see his keen interest in education,” the Delhi Chief Minister told reporters. Briefing Rao about the remarkable reforms of the Delhi government in education, Kejriwal said that many private school students are taking admission in government schools because of the quality of education.

“We have around 1,100 schools and about 18 lakh students are studying in them. Earlier this number was 16 lakh, but now, due to the remarkable improvement in the education sector, many students from private schools are joining our government schools,” Kejriwal told Rao. Telangana CM said he discussed political developments with Kejriwal as well as Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav earlier in the day.

“Businessmen talk about business when they meet. When politicians meet, they talk about politics. It is natural to talk politics with Akhilesh Yadav and Kejriwal,” he said. Telangana MPs Nama Nageswara Rao, J Santhosh Kumar, Ranjith Reddy and Venkatesh Netha were also present during the visit.

Later, the Chief Minister of Telangana visited a mohalla clinic in Mohammadpur in the national capital. On the new education policy of the central government, Rao said, “The central government should not just make a new education policy and apply it to everyone.” They should keep in mind that we are a federal democracy, the constitution clearly states that India is a federation of states, and to make a successful policy one must take everyone along. In a statement issued by the Delhi government, he said, “If it proceeds without any consultation with the states, there are bound to be differences and obstacles in the future.”

Kejriwal took to Twitter to share about KCR’s visit to a government school and a mohalla clinic. “Visted world class Mohalla Clinics & Delhi Govt Schools with @TelanganaCMO Shri K Chandrashekhar Rao ji. He was very happy seeing all the facilities. India will progress only when we learn from each other’s good deeds.

Rao also met journalist and author Prannoy Roy at the Chief Minister’s official residence on Tughlaq Road here and discussed political developments and economic issues in the country with him. Rao is in Delhi as part of his week-long nation tour to attend national level political and social events.

Last month, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin visited government schools in Delhi and praised the city government’s efforts to improve education standards.
