Wimbledon 2023: ‘Amazing to have Roger here supporting the event’, says Murray

With the Wimbledon Championship 2023 already in full phase, British Tennis star Andy Murray on 4 July opened up regarding the Tennis legend Roger Federer during an interaction as the latter watched him play from The Royal Box.

On being asked how he feels, as he defeated Britain’s Ryan Penistion 6-3, 6-0, 6-1, Murray said, “It was amazing to see some royalty, but some tennis royalty as well. It’s amazing to have Roger (Federer) here supporting the event last time I was on the court and he was watching the junior Olympics and sat in the Stan Wawrinka ball and was supporting against me.”

Continuing more, he said, “So it’s not its to see.. a couple to claps today after some good shots but now it’s amazing. Hope you doing well Roger, Mirka (Federer), and your parents as well.”

Later when the commentator asked Federer if he approved of today’s performance, Federer was laughing from the Royalty box.

Along with Prince of Wales Kate Middleton was laughing at Murray’s response on seeing Federer and enjoying the match from Royalty box.

Among other stuff, Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz while briefing the media on 5 July said that he would love to see Roger Federer cheering him on, as he would play on 6 July.

Federer, the former world No. 1 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), has retired from professional tennis following the Laver Cup. He became the first man to win 20 major singles titles and shortly the oldest ATP world No. 1 at age 36.
