‘Wire’ review: David Fincher’s tribute to the joy of watching the film

How impressive is each episode with narrators’ experiences, expert insights, and analysis of each aspect seen

Voiro, the latest six episode-long Netflix docu-series produced by David Pryor and David Fincher, is a collection of visual essays narrated by movie buffs, featuring a slew of notable people in and around the Hollywood film industry.

These include film blogger Sasha Stone, editor-writer Tony Zhou, animator Taylor Ramos and film critics Walter Chave and Drew McEweny. In each episode, the narrator describes how cinema as a whole – and certain films in particular – influenced, challenged, thrilled and shocked them in various ways.

Fincher, known for films such as Visionary Minds Fight Club, Seven And gone Girl, again brings its signature stamp to the project with some simple yet effective production quality.

The series hardly feels like a documentary due to the quality enactment and art direction in many sections.
