With Rajesh Gopinathan resigning, K Krithivasan named new MD, CEO of TCS with immediate effect

New Delhi: IT major TCS has taken the reigns as CEO Rajesh Gopinathan, and the company has named K Krithivasan, its global head of the BFSI division, as CEO with immediate effect, the firm said on Thursday. Gopinathan will remain with the company until September 15, 2023 to provide transition and support to his successor.

The company said, “After an illustrious career of over 22 years with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and a successful stint as Managing Director and CEO during the last 6 years, Rajesh Gopinathan has retired to pursue his other interests.” Have decided to leave the company.” said in a statement. TCS has designated its current chairman and global head of the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) business group Krithivasan as CEO with immediate effect.

“The board has nominated K Krithivasan to the position of CEO with effect from March 16, 2023. Krithivasan will undergo a transition phase with Rajesh Gopinathan to be appointed as the Managing Director and CEO in the next financial year,” the statement said. ”

The past six years of leading this prestigious organization have been the most enriching and fulfilling, with over $10Bn in incremental revenue and over $70Bn in market capitalisation. He said, “I am giving some thought to what I want to do in the next phase of my life. After careful consideration and consultation with the Chairman and the Board, we decided that the end of this fiscal year is a good time for me to step aside to pursue those interests. Having worked with Kriti over the past two decades, I am confident that she along with the leadership team is best positioned to take TCS to greater heights. I will work closely with Kriti to provide her all the help she needs.”
