The Kerala Police on Sunday detained a young woman who allegedly poisoned her 23-year-old male friend with the intention of “ending her”.

Sharon (22), a resident of Parsala in the district, was taken into custody for allegedly serving an ayurvedic decoction (kashayam) made from insecticides.

“As per our preliminary investigation, he invited her to his house on October 14 and gave her kashyam mixed with insecticide,” the ADGP said.

Sharon died on October 25 after being treated for 11 days at the medical college.

Grishma and her family were questioned since morning and the police said that they were in a relationship which ended in February.

“However, it seems that Sharon was not ready to back down from the relationship. Her marriage was fixed with another man. She later tried to avoid him in several ways. But since nothing happened, she decided to avoid him.” Decided to finish him. This is what we understand from his statements,” Mr. Kumar said.

The police said that they would soon register the arrest and produce him in the court soon.

The senior police officer said so far there is no evidence regarding the role of any other family member in the crime.

“The aim was to eliminate it and mix kashayam with insecticide,” he said.

When asked how the accused made her drink the astringent, Kumar said he had told the victim that it was difficult to drink Ayurvedic decoction.

“He used to make fun of her by saying that it is not so difficult to drink Kashaya. He invited her to his house on October 14 and gave Kashayam, which she drank. She vomited there and later on her way home too, ” They said.

However, police said Sharon did not reveal anything about Heat or her role in giving the poison.

As his condition deteriorated, the medical college authorities had informed the police considering it as a medico-legal case.

A magistrate recorded his statement on October 20.

“She passed away on October 25. We took statements of nine people including Grishma and her family members on October 26 and 27. After recording the statement of the doctor, we asked her and her family to appear for questioning Upon interrogation, he gave us a statement regarding the crime,” Mr. Kumar said.

Sharon’s family alleges that the woman had given her some kind of juice or decoction to kill her.

As news of her confession broke out, Sharon’s father told the media that the woman’s family was also involved in the crime.

“Not only the girl, but her parents are also involved,” he alleged.
