“Women BJP workers hurled phone at PM’s vehicle in over excitement”: Karnataka Police

A mobile phone was thrown at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vehicle on Sunday. The incident took place when PM Modi was conducting a roadshow on a specially designed vehicle to campaign for the May 10 assembly elections. According to the police, a woman worker of BJP threw the phone in ‘excitement’, she had no ‘malice’ in it.

The thrown mobile phone fell on the bonnet of the vehicle. The Prime Minister signaled to the Special Protection Group (SPG) officers accompanying him about an object falling on the vehicle.

Additional police shock (law and order) Alok Kumar told PTI that, “The prime minister was under SPG protection. The woman (who fell on the prime minister’s vehicle) is a BJP worker. The SPG men brought her back later.”

“The phone was thrown in excitement (over the event) and there was no (wrong) intention. But we are trying to trace the woman as the SPG officials called her,” he said.

The incident took place when Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha and former ministers KS Eshwarappa and S.A. While dancing with Ramdas, PM Modi was shaking hands of a large number of jammed people from both sides.
