Women’s Asian Cup controversy: Coach Thomas Dennerby blames AFC for Indian team’s bio-bubble violation. Football News – Times of India

Mumbai: Indian women’s football team coach Thomas Dennerby Blamed Asian on Wednesday football Confederation (AFC) to drive the country out of circulation Asian Cup, alleged that the bio-bubble set up by the continental body was not foolproof as the home team players were affected COVID-19 Positive hotel staff.
“When we reached the hotel and post arrival test we were all negative for Covid. The first positive case came on the day we went out of the hotel for training and a day later, seven hotel staff tested positive. It is rocket science. Don’t know how the outbreak happened,” he told PTI after a virtual media interaction.
“Also, seven hotel employees tested positive in the January 17 tests and they reported it a day later. What the AFC was doing for a whole day, we don’t know. The hotel staff like teams every three days. The test was not done. Six days after the employees were being tested, we don’t know the reason,” alleged an angry Dennerby.
He said that since the bio-bubble created by the AFC has violated the Covid-19, it should have found a solution.
“Honestly, we are not happy with the AFC tournament organization and the lack of solution-oriented dialogue. We feel that in a way it destroyed our dream. But we are not blaming the role of the AFC organization, not all. Overall the AFC is a good organization.
“Since the Covid violation was not our fault, the AFC should have found a solution. This was an extraordinary situation and the AFC could have taken steps like suspending the matches for a few days.”
