The 2021 Tata Tigor EV adopts the brand’s Ziptron powertrain as seen on the Nexon EV. Its lithium-ion battery gets IP67 certification. It is powered by a 26 kWh lithium-ion battery with a new permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that makes 73 bhp and 170 Nm of peak torque. The EV accelerates from 0 – 60 kmph in 5.7 seconds and has an ARAI certified drive range of up to 306 km. The ex-showroom price of the Tata Nexon EV starts at Rs 11.99 lakh for the base XE variant and goes up to Rs 12.99 lakh for the range-topping XZ+ (O) variant.

Tata Nexon EV

The price of Tata Nexon EV starts at Rs 13.99 lakh.

The Tata Nexon EV uses a permanent magnet AC motor that will be powered by a lithium-ion battery that is liquid-cooled and is IP67 certified. The Tata Nexon EV is powered by a 30.2 kWh battery that offers a maximum range of over 312 km on a single charge. The new electric powertrain on the Nexon EV churns out 245 Nm of peak torque, which is enough to clock triple digit speeds in 9.9 seconds. The battery can be charged up to 80 percent in 60 minutes using a fast charger, while it will take 8 hours to do so using a home charger. In fact, fast charging per minute will give it a range of 4km and if you have a 50 percent charge, the Nexon EV is good to go up to 150km, and an overall ARAI certified range of up to 312km. . Tata Nexon EV prices start at ₹ 13.99 Lakh for the base XM variant and go up to ₹ 16.85 Lakh for the range-topping dark XZ+ Lux trim.

Mahindra eKUV100 was introduced at the Auto Expo 2020 with prices starting from Rs 8.25 lakh.

Now Mahindra eKUV100 is yet to go on sale in India but it was introduced at Auto Expo 2020 with prices starting from Rs 8.25 lakh, making it the cheapest electric car in the country. It will be powered by a 40 kW electric motor that makes around 53 bhp and 120 Nm of peak torque. Based on Mahindra’s new MESMA 48 platform, it comes with a 15.9 kWh lithium-ion battery and offers a range of 120 km on a single charge. However, its delivery has been delayed due to the coronavirus crisis.

Hyundai Kona Electric

The Hyundai Kona Electric Premium variant costs Rs 23.79 lakh.

The Hyundai Kona Electric is powered by a 39.2 kWh battery that powers a 100 kW motor that sends power to the front wheels and churns out 131 bhp and 395 Nm of peak torque. The Hyundai Kona Electric offers a range of 452 km on a single charge and can clock triple digit speed in 9.7 seconds. It can be fully charged in seven to eight hours with a regular charger whereas a fast charger can charge the battery up to 80 per cent within an hour. The Hyundai Kona Electric premium variant costs Rs 23.79 lakh while the premium dual-tone trim costs Rs 23.99 lakh.

MG ZS EV

The MG ZS EV gets the same 44.5 kWh hi-tech battery pack that powers a permanent magnet synchronous motor. It develops 141 bhp and 353 Nm of peak torque. The electric SUV is claimed to offer a maximum range of up to 419 km when fully charged. The ex-showroom price of the ZS EV starts at Rs 20.99 lakh for the base Excite variant and goes up to Rs 24.18 lakh for the range-topping Exclusive variant.
