The epitome of thrill and adventure, the motorcycle brand Yezdi is back in new forms
Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd., a Mahindra Group start-up, has re-introduced the Yezdi brand of motorcycles in the Indian market with prices starting at Rs 1.98 lakhs, ex-showroom.
The company has launched three brand new Yezdi models called Yezdi Adventure, Scrambler and Roadster Sport which are “very different but come with a common spirit.”
Yezdi which was earlier manufactured by Ideal Java Limited was discontinued in 1996.
The new range of Yezdi motorcycles is now available across 300 Classic Legends dealerships that already sell Jawa motorcycles.
Top officials said the company has created enough supply to meet the demand.
Packed with modern technology and retro styling cues, the new generation of Yezdi motorcycles is powered by a liquid-cooled, fuel injected, DOHC single cylinder engine that displaces 334cc.
The Adventure range starts at ₹2,09,900, the Scrambler range starts at ₹2,04,900 and the Roadster range starts at ₹1,98,142 – all prices ex-showroom, Delhi.
Anupam Thareja, Co-Founder, Classic Legends, said, “It is not every day that you get a chance to celebrate the return of an iconic motorcycle, let alone legends like Yazdi. While its spirit lived through its tough community and in the mind and heart of every rider, the anticipation of seeing it again on Indian roads has been incredible.
“We have a legacy but now we will create our own dynasty. Being a motorcyclist myself, this is a moment of catharsis. As custodians of the brand, we ensured that we preserve and celebrate the essence of Yazdi and Yazdi Rider in these new avatars,” he said.
