Yazin Nizar excited to sing his first song for AR Rahman’s ‘Galatta Kalyanam’ and work in ‘RRR’

The multilingual singer talks about being a multilingual singer and finding your place in the industry

Yazeen Nizar is on a high as he was able to sing under AR Rahman after so many years. He has sung for the musician Galata Kalyanam, tamil dubbed version Atrangi Ray, Starring Dhanush, Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar. She has sung a melody number ‘Kadhalai Solla Mudiyadha’ with Shasha Tirupati.

Directed by Aanand L Rai, the film will release on December 24 on Disney Plus Hotstar.

“I sang in the background score of some of Rahman sir’s projects. But this is my first release and I am thrilled,” says the Chennai-based singer. “I had come to my home in Kollam, Kerala, when I got a message late at night reaching Rahman sir’s studio in Chennai. It was a call I had been waiting for. So I took the first flight the next morning.”

Yazin is also excited to be a part of the much-awaited, big budget Telugu period drama, SR Rajamouli RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, with music composed by MM Keeravani. The film is releasing on January 7, 2022 in Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam.

Yazin is one of the five singers featured in the film’s track ‘Dosti’, which has been released as a music video. He has sung the Kannada version of the song. Other singers are Amit Trivedi (Hindi), Anirudh Ravichander (Tamil), Vijay Yesudas (Malayalam) and Hemachandra (Telugu). Apart from the singers, the video features Keerwani and the lead cast.
