It looked like the revival of the Yezdi brand by Classic Legends would revive the ‘Roadking’ name as well. At least that’s what everyone thought. However, the iconic name was missing from the new-age Yezdi motorcycle line-up. But this will not last long as Classic Legends plans to revive the Roadking name as a new motorcycle which will be the new flagship offering from the brand. Anupam Thareja, Co-Founder, Classic Legends Pvt Ltd, recently confirmed the development to the media.

The new age Yezdi motorcycles were launched earlier this month and the new roadking will be positioned on top of these offerings

While details about the offering are scarce, the upcoming Yezdi Roadking could be a new middleweight motorcycle to rival the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. The new Roadking is said to be under development and will sport a new underpinnings. There is a possibility that it may borrow 652 cc single-cylinder motor from the new BSA with 45 bhp and 55 Nm of peak torque on tap. While the BSA motorcycle brand will initially be for the Europe and North America markets, the same larger single could be used in the Yezdi Roadking, sharing the new BSA platform and offering a Yezdi-branded model for the domestic market. But Roadking will not be just a matter of re-branding the BSA.

It will be safe to say that the new Yezdi Roadking will be loaded with a lot of borrowing from its younger siblings on the feature front. Hence expect to see full-LED lighting, a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, Yezdi app with rider analytics, dual-channel ABS and more.

That being said, there’s no word on when Classic Legends plans to revive Roadking. The brand has its hands full now. Bookings and deliveries have started for the new Yezdi range like Adventure, Scrambler and Roadster. It is likely that the company will continue to spend the remainder of 2022 on building the Yazdi brand and the first three models, while the roadking may be the year required or arrive in 2023.
