New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday approved the appointment of Professor Yogesh Singh as the new Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, while Professor Neelima Gupta was appointed as the VC of Dr Hari Singh Gour University in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.

Singh is currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi Technological University (DTU). He was reappointed for a second term earlier this year.

Singh’s appointment comes after Yogesh Tyagi, former VC of Delhi University Suspended for alleged administrative lapse in October last year. PC Joshi is acting as the acting VC.
Who is Yogesh Singh
Singh has previously served as Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda from 2011-14 and Dean of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University from 2001-2006.
He holds a Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a PhD in Computer Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra.
