You will always be in our hearts: Sidharth Malhotra writes emotional note on Captain Vikram Batra’s birth anniversary

Known for his bravery, Captain Vikram Batra died at the age of 24 while fighting the Pakistani Army during the Kargil War in 1999.

Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra on Thursday paid tributes to Captain Vikram Batra on his 47th birth anniversary and said the Kargil war heroes will “always remain” in people’s hearts.

Mr Malhotra, who recently played Captain Batra in a biopic, penned an emotional note on the war hero’s birth anniversary.

“They say those who touch our lives are always in our hearts. And Captain Vikram Batra, you have greatly influenced our lives with your valor, wisdom, charm and love for the nation. You will always remain in our hearts. I will live in your loving memory, Jai Hind. Flag of India,” he wrote along with a collage picture of Captain Vikram.

Known for his bravery, Captain Vikram died at the age of 24 while fighting the Pakistani Army during the Kargil War in 1999.

He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, the highest wartime gallantry award.

“Shershaah”, based on the life of Captain Batra, starring Mr. Malhotra, recently released on August 12 on Amazon Prime Video.

The film, which takes its title from the codename of the war hero, is directed by Vishnu Vardhan. In the film, actress Kiara Advani was seen in the role of Captain Batra’s fiancee Dimple Cheema.
