KANPUR: Thirty more cases of Zika have been reported in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.
So far 66 people have been tested positive since the first case was detected in the city Zika virus on 23 October.
30 new cases have been reported from the tests conducted in the virology lab of KGMU Lucknow And National Institute of Virology, Pune. Of the new cases, three of the infected are women and 27 are men, including children, young people and the elderly.

CMO Dr Nepal Singh said that the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow and the National Institute of Virology, Pune have confirmed 30 more people on Thursday.
Kanpur Nagar District Magistrate Visakh G Iyer said that Zika virus infection has been confirmed in 30 more people on Thursday. “The total number has now reached 66. Source reduction and door-to-door sampling and cleaning is being done continuously by medical teams and surveillance teams. People have been advised to check mosquito breeding. It has also been appealed to cooperate with the NGO and the health department to form teams in eliminating mosquito breeding points and larvae,” the DM further added.
