Zypp Electric announces partnership with Battery Smart

Over 2,000 Zypp electric two-wheelers will be integrated into the Battery Smart network and will have access to over 175 swap stations in the Delhi-NCR region.

Battery Smart, one of India’s largest and fastest growing battery-swapping network for electric vehicles, has announced a partnership with India’s leading shared electric mobility start-up, Zypp Electric. Through this partnership, 2,000 Zypp electric two-wheelers will be integrated into Battery Smart’s network, giving riders access to over 175 swap stations across the Delhi-NCR region. According to the joint announcement of the two companies, the pilot of 200 electric vehicles is already underway. Battery Smart’s unique battery-as-a-service model allows Zypp Electric to reduce its capital expenditure (CAPEX) while increasing operations.

Zypp Electric riders can save valuable time by using Battery Smart’s swapping stations, which keep them on the road for longer periods of time.

Plus, riders of Zypp Electric can save valuable time and take advantage of a well-established network of multiple locations to swap batteries, allowing them to stay on the road for longer periods of time.

“Our partnership with Zipp Electric adds a large base of commercial two-wheelers and helps us to improve utilization of our growing network. As the largest network for battery swapping in the country, we typically connect with EVs. Ranges help ease the fear of anxiety, said Pulkit Khurana, co-founder, Battery Smart, “especially for the logistics segment.”

Speaking on the occasion, Akash Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO, Zypp Electric said, “Having access to the largest network of battery swapping in the country helps our drivers stay on the road for longer periods. Battery Smart The partnership with Zypp also allows us to remain asset-light while further expanding our fleet numbers, without the large capex associated with batteries and stations. Battery Smart was launched in June 2020, and features a unique partner-led model that allows it to scale rapidly. With already over 175 battery-swapping stations in Delhi, Gurugram and Noida, the company has completed 7 lakh swaps and is currently serving over 2,500 electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers daily. Going forward, Battery Smart aims to give EV drivers access to a two-minute swap within a 1-km radius with zero waiting time.
