Hyundai India has launched the new Venue facelift with prices starting from ₹ 7.53 Lakh (ex-showroom). The Venue facelift is available in a choice of six variants – E, S, S+, S(O), SX and SX(O) with prices ranging up to ₹ xxx lakhs for the fully loaded model. The sub-compact SUV receives a notable cosmetic update as part of the mid-life-cycle update, which brings similar design cues to its larger global sibling, while the cabin also gets some cosmetic changes along with new technology. Starting with the design, the Venue gets a wider more prominent ‘parametric jewel grille’, with liberal use of chrome merging into the slim upper minor cluster. The main headlamps are seated downwards on the new bumpers. The rear also gets a notable update with segmented lighting elements and a full-length lightbar with more angular lights. To complement the changes, there are newly designed alloy wheels.
Connected tail lamps have been given in the new Venue.
The new Venue is available in six single tone colors and one dual tone colour. Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Denim Blue, Phantom Black and Polar White are all available only in single tone options, with Fiery Red available as a single tone as well as a dual tone option, which gets a black roof.
Inside, Hyundai has retained the same basic dashboard design, though the higher variants now feature a dual-tone finish with the lower part finished in a lighter colour. The analog instrument cluster has also been replaced by a digital unit on the higher variants. The rear seat now comes with a 2-step recline function, which is a feature seen in some SUVs in the upper segment. Then there’s the technology on offer. The fully loaded SUV now comes with an updated version of Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car technology with over 60 connected car features and support for 12 languages including 10 regional languages. The system supports over-the-air updates as before.
The facelifted SUV also features new Google and Alexa support that allows owners to access certain in-car functions from their phones or other Google or Alexa enabled devices using the Google or Alexa voice assistants. These include things like remote climate control, door lock and unlock, vehicle status check, find my car, tire pressure information, fuel level information, speed alert, time fencing and idle time alert.
The Venue gets 3 driving modes – Normal, Eco and Sport.
The Venue facelift gets two petrol and one diesel engine options from the outgoing model. The range starts with an 82 bhp 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that is available across all variants except the top line SX(O) variant. The higher variant gets the option of a more powerful 118 bhp 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is not available in the E, S and SX trims. The diesel engine is the familiar 99 bhp 1.5-litre unit, which is available in all but the E and S trims. Gearbox options include 5-speed manual (1.2 petrol), 6-speed manual (1.5 diesel), 6-speed IMT (1.0 turbo) and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (1.0 turbo). The Venue also gets Drive Mode Select, and drivers can choose between 3 modes, Normal, Eco and Sport.
Two petrol and one diesel engine options are available in the Venue.
