87% of professionals in India increase productivity, morale by sharing emotions at work: LinkedIn report

LinkedIn, an online professional network, has released new research that highlights changes in how professionals are expressing themselves at work. The survey, in which 2,188 professionals participated, shows that more than 3 in 4 (76 percent) professionals India Feel comfortable expressing your feelings at work after the pandemic.

3 out of 5 professionals in India want more humor at work

Three-quarters (76 percent) of professionals in India agree that “breaking the joke” at work is good for office culture, but more than half (56 percent) consider it ‘unprofessional’. Despite these mixed sentiments, 9 out of 10 (90 percent) professionals in India agree that humor is one of the most underused and underestimated expressions of work. In fact, more than 3 in 5 (61 percent) of professionals want to see more humor used in the workplace in general.

Overall, professionals in South India are telling the most jokes in the country, with 2 in 5 (43 percent) doing it at least once a day, followed by professionals in Western (38 percent), Eastern (37 percent). Worldwide, Indian and Italian workers come out on top as the funniest workers globally, with more than a third (38 percent) cracking a joke at least once a day, respectively.
