Coimbatore: A day after confiscating 2.5 kg of ganja from three peddlers, Peelamedu police on Saturday night arrested a 19-year-old woman from Thottipalayam Pirivu near Chinniampalayam and seized 91.5 kg of ganja from her.
Inspector Ganeshkumar and Sub-Inspector Rajkumar arrested 28-year-old B Gangaprasad from Madhubani district of Bihar. S Balakrishnan28, k Rajiv Gandhi Nagar Nilambur and in S VijayThe 20-year-old from Nilambur, on Friday and 2.5 kg of ganja, a car and two motorcycles were seized from him.
Based on Gangaprasad’s statement, police raided the house of a woman in Thoppampatti Pirivu on Saturday evening and seized 91.5 kg of ganja.
The woman was sent to judicial custody and lodged in a special prison for women.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Gangaprasad had procured the banned substance Andra Pradesh and smuggled in a car.
