Delhi’s mayoral election was stalled for the second time this month on Tuesday as the House was adjourned sine die by the presiding officer appointed by the LG following an uproar by some councillors.

AAP leaders said Oberoi approached the court on Thursday and the matter is likely to come up for hearing on Friday.

Earlier, AAP had accused the BJP of pre-planning the ruckus in the House and claimed that BJP councilors had gheraoed the well of the House with printed placards.

The first meeting of the newly elected House of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) was also adjourned on January 6 amid uproar by AAP and BJP members.

In the MCD elections held in December last year, AAP had won 134 out of 250 wards.

The BJP was successful in winning 104 wards.
