ABEA partners with Pen GSE to train teachers – Times of India

New Delhi: Aditya Birla Education Academy (ABEA), in association with University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of EducationOffering teachers a week-long special certification program, ‘Engaging Students for Intensive Learning’ digital age‘, in line with the National Policy on Education 2020 (NEP 2020). The aim of the program is to inculcate an understanding of the technological solutions needed to engage their increasingly tech-savvy students. The program is ideal for K-12 teachers, coordinators, heads of departments, school leaders, shadow teachers and special educators. The program is starting from 19 September 2022.

The curriculum will strengthen the National Education Policy 2020’s emphasis on online education and maximize the benefits of digital learning in India. This certification program will enable teachers to understand the concepts of a student-centred learning environment and evaluate technologies for their learning expenses. In addition, participants will be instructed on how to design a learning environment that facilitates transferable and long-lasting 21st century skills. The course will run from September 19 to September 30, 2022 and will consist of two-hour face-to-face sessions every alternate day.

Dr. Betty Chandy (Director, Catalyst for Online Learning, Penn GSE) and Michael Golden (Executive Director, Catalyst, Penn GSE) will lead the training, which will include 10 hours of synchronous online and asynchronous training as well as 10 hours of project work. The curriculum is divided into six modules: understanding technology and learning in the contemporary world, online, blended, and hybrid modalities of learning, deep learning approaches, and project-based learning, reconsideration assessments and competency-based learning, and Resource-specific instructions for the domain.
