The announcement comes days after cinemas in the United States said they would celebrate their National Cinema Day on September 3 and offer tickets for as low as $3.

Why is National Cinema Day celebrated?

Theater owners are celebrating the occasion as a “thank you” for filmmakers on the successful reopening of theaters following COVID-19.

Through this initiative cinema halls also want to invite those who have not yet started going to cinemas after the pandemic.

One-day only discounts will be available at over 4,000 participating theaters.
