Former minister and BJP MLC AH Vishwanath supports the order issued by Survey, Settlement and Land Records Commissioner Munish Moudgil for re-survey of land in and around Mysore after former deputy commissioner Rohini Sindhuri alleged JD(S) MLA did. SR Mahesh of Encroachment.
Speaking to reporters in Mysore on 6 September, Mr. Vishwanath found fault with Cooperation Minister ST Somashekar for questioning Mr. Moudgil’s authority to order the survey again. Mr. Somashekar, who represents the government, cannot ask Mr. Moudgil as to who gave him the authority. Pointing out that the government has given him authority, the BJP MLC said Mr Somashekar cannot question his authority. He said, ‘It is against the law.
Though a survey was conducted under the Divisional Commissioner of Mysore, an RTI activist had submitted a complaint questioning the earlier report.
“The Commissioner (Survey, Settlement and Land Records) has issued directions for re-survey to get the actual position,” argued Mr. Vishwanath. He said that if Mr. Mahesh has not encroached upon the government land, then he need not fear.
Responding to the results of civic elections of some urban local bodies in Karnataka, Mr Vishwanath said that the result is not a barometer for the results of the next assembly elections.

Mr Vishwanath, who was one of the outspoken critics of former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, praised Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
“Mr. Bommai is not in the shadow of Mr. Yediyurappa. He is forging his own path, which is giving reassurance and hope to the people of the state,” said the BJP MLC. “The earlier chief ministers were joining the family. The current chief minister Connecting with people.”
Expressing hope of the next expansion of the cabinet after the upcoming assembly session, Shri Vishwanath advised the Chief Minister to distribute all the portfolios to his ministerial colleagues and focus on monitoring the administration.
